Concept & Objective
Inspired by Art Deco influences and the client’s swan logo, this project focused on preserving the heritage value of the existing space while adapting it to contemporary workplace requirements. Natural cross ventilation and daylight became central to the planning due to the absence of air conditioning. Existing Burma teak furniture and heritage architectural elements were carefully restored, repaired and reused wherever possible to maintain authenticity and reduce unnecessary waste. A curved metal grill at the entrance was designed to visually guide visitors toward the books while still maintaining uninterrupted sightlines across the office.
